Breeding & Hatching

The story begins on our parent rearing farms which receive breeding stock from world class breeding companies. The birds are reared to sexual maturity over a period of six months ensuring that only strong healthy turkeys are available for transfer to our laying farms.  

Once on the laying farm, our highly skilled farm colleagues provide the birds with the best possible surroundings to maximise the production of fertile hatching eggs. The eggs are collected from the farm and are taken to our hatchery in Dalton.

The hatchery is our very own maternity unit, with specialist incubators and environmental control systems maintaining the highest standards of bio-security. Twenty eight days later and the hatched poults are then sexed and ready for delivery to the growing farms in one of our purpose built hatchery vehicles, ensuring a safe, comfortable journey.
